Johannes Vilhelm Jensen (1873-1950)
Awarded the Prize “for the rare strength and fertility of his poetic imagination with which is combined an intellectual curiosity of wide scope and a bold, freshly creative style.”Danish writer. Jensen was born on January 20, 1873 in a village of Farso in North Jutland. In 1893, he graduated from the Cathedral School of Viborg, and subsequently studied medicine for three years at the University of Copenhagen. He did not choose medicine but engaged in journalism and letters. Jensen died in Copenhagen on November 25, 1950.
