Eduard Buchner (1860-1917)
Awarded the Prize “for his biochemical researches his discovery of cell-free fermentation.”German biochemist. Buchner was born in Munich on May 20, 1860. He gained his doctorate in 1888 at the University of Munich. Later, he became Professor in the University of Kiel, the University of Tübingen, the Agricultural College in Berlin, the University of Breslau the University of Würzburg. Buchner died on August 13, 1917 in Munich.
