George de Hevesy (1885-1966)

Awarded the Prize “for his work on the use of isotopes as tracers in the study of chemical processes.”

Swedish chemist. Hevesy was born on August 1, 1885 in Budapest, Hungary. He studied at Budapest University Berlin Technical University gained his doctor’s degree at the University of Freiburg in 1908. He was Professor at the Universities of Budapest, Freiburg Stockholm. Hevesy died on July 5, 1966 at Freiburg, Germany.
