
Robert Robinson (1886-1975)
Awarded the Prize “for his investigations on plant products of biological importance, especially the alkaloids.”British chemist. Robinson was born on September 13, 1886 near Chesterfield, Derbyshire, Engl. He graduated B.Sc. in 1906 D.Sc. in 1910 at Manchester University. In 1912, he was Professor at the University of Sydney, Chair in Organic Chemistry at the University of Liverpool, Director of Research at the British Dyestuffs Corporation professor at London, Waynflete Professor of Chemistry at Oxford University, Emeritus Professor Honorary Fellow of Magdalen College.
