Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac (1902-1984)

Awarded the Prize “for the discovery of new productive forms of atomic theory.”

British theoretical physicist. Dirac was born on August 8, 1902 at Bristol, Engl. He studied electrical engineering at Bristol University, obtaining his B.Sc. degree in 1921. He then went to St. John’s College, Cambridge received his Ph.D. degree in 1926. The following year he became a Fellow of St. John’s College in 1932 Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1930 a member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences in 1961. Dirac died at Tallahassee, Frolida on October 20, 1984.
