Louis Renault (1843-1918)

Awarded the Prize “for his appreciable contribution to the International Law the outsting part he played in the debates.”

French jurist educator. Renault was born on May 21, 1843 at Autun. He graduated in literature at the University of Dijon. From 1861 to 1868 he studied law in Paris received three degrees. He was a professor of international law at the universities of Dijon Paris. Since 1890 Renault has also been a legal counselor to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Renault died on February 7, 1918 at Barbizon.
