
Karl Hjalmar Branting (1860-1925)
Awarded the Prize “in recognition of his efforts in transforming the League of Nations to be an institute of reconciliation disarmament.”Swedish politician. Branting was born on November 23, 1860 in Stockholm. He graduated from the University of Uppsala. He was an editor of newspaper. He was one of the founders president of the Social Democratic Party. He was elected to the lower chamber of the parliament in 1896. He was the Prime Minister for three times. Branting died on February 24, 1925 in Stockholm.
