
Charles Gates Dawes (1865-1951)
Awarded the Prize “in recognition of his ly hling in submitting ‘Dawes Report’ in dealing with the question of German reparations.”American politician economist. Dawes was born on August 27, 1865 at Marietta, Ohio. He received his bachelor’s degree in 1884 at the Marietta College, then he studied in the Law School of the University of Cincinnati, returned to Marietta to earn a ’s degree. In 1920, he was appointed to the Director of the Budget, in 1924 he was elected to the vice-presidency of the United States. Dawes died on April 23, 1951 at Evanston, Illinois.
