Yitzhak Rabin (1922-1995)
Awarded the Prize “to honour a political act which called for great courage on both sides, which has opened up opportunities for a new development towards fraternity in the Middle East.”Israeli statesman. Rabin was born on March 1, 1922 in Jerusalemn. He graduated from Kadourie Agricultural School in Kfar Tabor in 1941 joined the Palmach, the Jewish Defense Forces’ commo unit. He graduated in 1953 from the British staff college, became chief of staff in 1964. He was elected prime minister twicely in 1974 1992. Rabin was assassinated to death on November 4, 1995 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
