Awarded the Prize “in recognition of the organization’s pioneering humanitarian work on several continents.”An international humanitarian organization founded by a group of French medical doctors, offering assistance to populations in distress, to victims of natural or man-made disasters to victims of armed conflict, without discrimation irrespective of race, religion, creed or political affiliation. It has developed to an international humanitarian movement with offices in 18 ries ongoing activities in over 80 ries. Now there are over 2,500 volunteers working worldwide the organization emphasies the need for independent humanitarian action in all of its actions.
