Robert M. Solow (1924-2023)
Awarded the Prize “for his contributions to the theory of economic growth.”American economist. Solow was born on August 23, 1924 at Brooklyn, New York. He was educated at Harvard University, from which he received his Ph.D. in 1951. He remained in Cambridge, Massachusetts, taking a position at MIT, where, with the exception of those periods spent visiting academic institutions abroad, he has remained since. Dr. Solow passed away on Dec.21st, 2023 in the United States.
