Harry Max Markowitz (1927-2023)
Awarded the Prize “for his pioneering work in the theory of financial economics.”American economist. Markowitz was born on August 24, 1927 in Chicago. He obtained his B.A. in 1947, M.A. in 1950 Ph.D. in 1954 from the University of Chicago. He joined the RAND Corporation in 1952 founded CACI - a computer software company later. He was professor at the City University of New York. He was an Adjunct Professor at the Rady School at the University of California at San Diego, as well as President of Henry Markowitz Company. Dr. Markowitz passed away on June 22, 2023 in San Diego, USA.
