John F. Nash Jr. (1928-2015)
Awarded the Prize “for his pioneering analysis of equilibria in the theory of non-cooperative games.”American economist. Nash was born on June 13, 1928 at Bluefield, West Virginia. He studied at the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie-Mellon University) receiving his B.A. his M.A. in mathematics in 1948. In 1950 he received his doctorate from Princeton. He was professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology Princeton University. Nash died on May 23, 2015 in a taxi crash on the New Jersey Turnpike.
