On September 28th, the exhibition "Brilliant Miniatures: 500 Years of Western Art History on Stamps" opened at the Cheng Ji Art Gallery of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The exhibition displayed nearly 200 philatelic items (stamps, stamp folders, maximum cards, first-day covers, etc.) from my decades-long collection, featuring paintings by 68 artistic masters from around the world, ranging from Botticelli, Da Vinci, Raphael, Monet, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso to Zao Wou-Ki. It can be regarded as a concise history of 500 years of Western art. Bringing "the national name card" (stamps) into institutions of higher learning in this unique way to popularize elegant art and enable students to have a zero-distance contact with Western art masters is undoubtedly a deeply meaningful endeavor, which has thus won wide praise from teachers and students.
